Movin’ On Up with Kris Olson
Starting with toddlers and preschoolers, we’ll move on up through elementary and middle-aged children to discover ways to use movement to strengthen musical skills, increase musicality, and create avenues for creativity and growth. Participants will learn adapted folk dances for their littlest students and tried and true processes that ensure success for older children creating their own movement. A Border Morris stick dance will be taught which has been successfully taught to hundreds of upper elementary students. It’s always a big hit (pun intended!) as well as a great addition to performances and celebrations.

The Art of Possibility with David Row
There are hundreds of ways to teach a song! In this workshop we’ll take some of our favorite folk songs and look at them from all angles, exploring the possibilities in each lesson. Could we add instrument? Could we include dance? Could we alter the song’s form? Could we change the tempo? You’ll walk away with some new songs and lessons as well as skills and resources to revitalize old favorites.
